With Six-Week Long Celebration

LAKE GENEVA, WI (October 21, 2014) – A winter wonderland set in the heart of the Midwest, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and sister property, Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark are set to kick off the holidays with the annual Illumination Ceremony November 23rd that will light up the resort with more than two million lights. The Illumination Ceremony is just the beginning of a six-week long celebration where Grand Geneva welcomes locals and guests alike to share in the festive spirit. Celebrating its 20th year, Christmas in the Country is a regional festival favorite complete with numerous activities and Christmas musicals that bring this magical time of year to life.

The full holiday event lineup includes:

  • Two Christmas Musicals – A Christmas Portrait and Thomas & Friends: A Holiday Adventure. For tickets, please call the box office at 262-203–8110.
  • Breakfast with Santa (New this year!) – Enjoy a snowman-themed breakfast buffet in your PJs! Every Saturday November 29 – December 20 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Prices range from $6 (kids 2-5) to $12 (kids 6-12) and $21 for adults. Reservations are recommended by calling 262-249-4788.
  • Gingerbread House Display – Area residents, amateur and professional, can display their masterpieces in adult or child categories.
  • Classic Holiday Tale – Every Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. in the lobby. Pajamas and slippers recommended.
  • Meet Santa! – Visit with Santa and his elves in the lobby every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. November 29 – December 20. The Badger High School Bach Group or Vocal Ensemble and cast members of A Christmas Portrait will perform throughout the season.
  • Elf Mail Run – Drop off your letters to Santa at our magical mailbox located in the main lobby. See Santa’s helpers stop by to collect the mail at 4p.m. daily to deliver it to the North Pole.
  • Festive Holiday Tea – During this festive time of year, Grand Geneva will serve special afternoon holiday tea. Reserve a table and take a step back in time and tradition. Served daily from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. during December. Reservations required: 262-249-4788.
  • New Year’s Eve – Ring in the New Year in “Grand” style. Whether you choose to celebrate over a romantic meal in one of our restaurants, with a gathering of friends, or with your family, Grand Geneva offers a variety of packages and dining options.

In addition to the lights, shows and on-property events that make Grand Geneva an idyllic holiday getaway, the property boasts The Mountain Top – 30 acres, 18 runs and an all-new terrain park full of snow all winter long for skiers and snowboarders alike.

New this year is the frequent skier punch card. With the purchase of one punch card, receive 10 lift tickets for use anytime during the 2014-2015 ski season. The Thomas & Friends: A Holiday Adventure package includes: one night stay, four tickets to “Thomas & Friends: A Holiday Adventure” and cookies and milk for all four family members.

The Breakfast with Thomas & Friends package at Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark includes one night stay in a suite, four tickets to “Thomas & Friends: A Holiday Adventure,” breakfast before the show in the Forum Theater, cookies and milk for family members and four waterpark passes.

The Grand Style NYE Celebration package starts at $675 and includes two nights in a deluxe guest room, dinner for two, admission to the Déjà vu Party in the Grand Ballroom, two drink tickets per person, a champagne toast, midnight balloon drop and party favors.
