Lake Geneva Resort Launches Special Seasonal Events and Packages

LAKE GENEVA, Wis., (October 25, 2017) – Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, the award-winning AAA Four-Diamond resort owned and managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, launches a variety of special events and packages to enjoy the holiday season in Lake Geneva. Whether visiting with friends or family, guests are bound to have an unforgettable experience at the 1,300 acre property. Grand Geneva kicks off its annual Christmas in the Country celebration on November 19, along with holiday dining, events and resort packages to take guests into the New Year.

Holiday Special Events

Thanksgiving Day DiningJoin Grand Geneva on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, for a traditional Thanksgiving buffet in the Grand Ballroom or Geneva ChopHouse. The resort is also offering a breakfast and Thanksgiving buffet at Grand Café, as well as a Thanksgiving dinner at Ristorante Brissago. Please call (262) 249-4788 to make a reservation.

Christmas in the Country 2017The annual six-week long Christmas in the Country celebration features a variety of activities and events, including:

  • 23rd Annual Illumination Ceremony: On Sunday, November 19, the resort kicks off the celebration by illuminating more than 2 million lights throughout the property, followed by a dazzling fireworks display. Discover the magic of the season with kids’ activities and live entertainment, as well as holiday cookies and hot apple cider. All guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the United Way of Walworth County.
  • Gingerbread House Display: Area residents are invited to display their masterpieces beginning November 19 throughout the holidays, just outside Ristorante Brissago. Call (800) 558-3417 x 3782 or email ggescapades@grandgeneva.com by November 8 to enter the Gingerbread House Competition.
  • Breakfast with Santa: Every Saturday and Sunday from November 25 to December 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., visit the resort’s Ballroom for live holiday music and a delicious breakfast buffet with Santa. Enjoy fun holiday activities and separate kids and adult buffets to accommodate taste. All families will get a keepsake photo and magnetic frame.   • Holiday Tea: Enjoy a special afternoon seasonal tea at the Lobby Lounge Wednesdays through Sundays from November 29 to December 24 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Reservations are required.
  • Trolley Tour of Lights: Starting November 20, hop aboard the Grand Geneva trolley for a tour around the resort to see all of the resort’s decorations. Tours are available hourly at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Reservations are required (can be made starting November 1) and most tours sell out.
  • Classic Holiday Tale: From November 25 to December 10 and December 16 to December 30, guests are invited to enjoy a cozy reading of a classic holiday story for children of all ages. This is offered Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. in the Swinghurst Theatre.
  • Holiday Grand Game Zone: Enjoy air hockey, ping pong tables, 18 arcade games and activities with Grand Geneva’s Experience Team in the Loramoor Ballroom. The game zone is available December 15 to January 7 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
  • Additional activities that make up Christmas in the Country include live entertainment in the Lobby Lounge, Saturday Santa Visits and daily Elf Mail Runs.

Ullr Fest and Toy DriveOn Saturday, December 16 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., The Mountain Top will be celebrating Uller, the Nordic God of Snow and Winter. Festivities include a toy drive for the Walworth County Health and Human Services, a Viking costume contest, bonfire, along with a beer tent and drink specials. Christmas Day Dining – Celebrate the holidays at Grand Geneva with a traditional Christmas Day brunch in Geneva ChopHouse. Christmas Day dinner will also be offered at Geneva ChopHouse, Ristorante Brissago and the Grand Café.

Illumination Ceremony PackageEnjoy a special rate starting at $79 for the night of the resort’s 23rd Annual Illumination Ceremony on Sunday, November 19. The event kicks off of the annual Christmas in the Country. Take in all of the sights and sounds of Christmas and see more than two million lights illuminate followed by a fireworks display.

Breakfast with Santa Package – Wake up to live holiday music and meet Santa while enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet. Enjoy fun holiday activities, plus separate kid and adult buffets to accommodate every taste. All attire is welcome, whether you want to dress up for the photo with Santa or show up in pajamas. The package includes a one night stay and breakfast for four to Breakfast with Santa.

Santa Cruise Package – Take the holiday cruise on Geneva Lake and ride past brilliant shoreline holiday light displays on the way to see Santa at his North Pole Hideaway. The package includes a one night stay, two tickets to the Santa Cruise by Lake Geneva Cruise Line and $25 Grand Geneva dining credit.

Grand Romance PackageNow through December 30, treat your special someone to a romantic getaway at Grand Geneva and enjoy decadent dining and relaxing quality time. The package include two night accommodations, handmade chocolate truffles and a red rose delivered to the room, a bottle of champagne, a 15% spa discount at WELL Spa + Salon and a $100 dining credit.

NYE Hills and Thrills PackageCelebrate the New Year slope style with your whole family at The Mountain Top. The package offers four lift tickets for one day of skiing and snowboarding, NYE dinner buffet for four at the Forum at Grand Geneva (served from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.), family games and activities, DJ entertainment, party favors and a midnight balloon drop. Pricing starts at $799 for a family of four.

NYE ChopHouse Dining Package – Make this New Year’s Eve unforgettable with a romantic dinner at Geneva ChopHouse and a night of music and dancing in the Grand Ballroom. NYE Grand Celebration Package – Dress to the nines for this Grand Celebration on New Year’s Eve.
